A new 69-space parking lot on the Marigot waterfront

A 69-space parking lot—including one space reserved for people with limited mobility—was inaugurated Monday on the Marigot waterfront by President Louis Mussington, Vice President Bernadette Davis, and Territorial Councilor for Transportation Arnel Daniel. A crosswalk providing access to both sides of Boulevard de France was also constructed.

The construction of this parking lot, which cost 296,981 euros, constitutes the first phase of a broader project to enhance the waterfront, according to the Collectivité.

Other improvements are planned, such as the creation of a pedestrian path along the seaward edge of the parking lot to ensure the safety of pedestrians and cyclists and improve the site’s accessibility, the installation of a street workout area and a “mini-soccer” field, the construction of a bocce court, and a space dedicated to hosting food trucks, allowing street vendors—subject to obtaining a temporary occupancy permit—to offer light meals to visitors.
