Illegal construction on Kim Sha beach

"Last week we were alerted that there was possible illegal construction happening at the area of Simpson Bay Beach popularly known as Kim Sha at the location of the construction site of Roxxy Beach Bar", says the St Maarten Nature Foundation

The staff issued a report to the Inspection Department of VROMI after inspecting the location. It has been confirmed from the Department that there were no permits in place to construct on the beach and the company has been issued a stop and removal order.

The Roxxy bar says on its Facebook page that it has a building permit contrary to what the Nature Foundation of St Maarten has said. According to our source, the government issued a permit but part of the current construction site on the beach was illegal because it did not correspond to the permit, an extension was being carried out without authorization.
