The President and Vice Presidents Summoned to Court
In early May, the public prosecutor’s office had stated that it would issue a “criminal response shortly” following the detention of the president and vice presidents. This has now been confirmed.
Louis Mussington has been summoned to appear before the Saint Martin court on October 5 and 6. He is accused of illegal conflict of interest. He is accused of hiring several members of his family to work for the Collectivité.
He is also being prosecuted, along with Vice Presidents Alain Richardson, Bernadette Davis, Michel Petit, and Dominique Démocrite-Louisy, in a separate case involving a public contract for vehicle rentals. They are accused of embezzlement of public funds. They are scheduled to appear in court a few days later.
