Inès Bouchaut-Choisy’s close relationship with the President of the Republic is an asset

Max Dubois, the overseas national coordinator for the La République en Marche (LRM) movement is spending a few days in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy to organize the Inès Bouchaut-Choisy campaign.

"I have my colts and I want them to win," says Max Dubois, who has just arrived from Paris. He traveled overseas to support the candidates invested by La République en Marche (LRM) and organize the parliamentary elections campaign. He spends a few days in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy before leaving for French Guiana. "Emmanuel said to me: do you think we should give Ines a boost? ... and I got on a plane," said the man who is on a first name basis with the new President of the Republic.

Inès Bouchaut-Choisy is the locally invested LRM candidate with Alain Gros-Desormeaux as her deputy. "It's a legitimate candidature," he says. "There is a special relationship between Inès and Emmanuel," he confides. Sitting next to him at the press conference on Friday night in Marigot to present the binomial, Max Dubois insists on the closeness of the local candidate to the new President of the Republic she has been supporting for over a year. An indisputable asset according to him. "When Emmanuel Macron came to Guadeloupe, they worked together on the problems of the West Indies and overseas. As she is a great tourism specialist, he was very attentive to her proposals to see how the tourist offering could be strengthened overseas," he said.

Max Dubois did not forget to say that the local candidate knows the members of the government and has good relations with the new overseas minister, Annick Girardin. "She met them all in Paris. She worked with them during the preparation of the dossiers," he says. And Inès Bouchaut-Choisy confirmed: "As a member of the CESE, I interviewed several members of the government and other representatives of ministries."

Beyond the political program, Max Dubois relies on these "relations" for his "colt" to win. "Of course, we need a strong member of parliament in her district who will know and will have the government’s ear or even that of the president," he admits
