Le Manteau: the association invited at the Collectivité

The meeting was aimed to find solutions to the security problems facing the association.

On Tuesday, May 16th, the President Daniel Gibbs and Vice-President Annick Petrus, in charge of the Solidarity & Families’ division of the Collectivité, invited the leaders of Le Manteau’s association of Saint-Martin and the representative of the State, to participate in a work meeting with the Collectivité services on the situation of the association. At the beginning of the meeting, “the President praised the work of the volunteers and the valuable assistance provided to the territory by the associations of public authority, especially in the assistance of people in distress. The Vice-President has reassured the President of the association on the desire of the Collectivité to accompany the Manteau alongside the institution of guardianship (the State), responsible for the management team to observe an optimized management of the hosting structure”, indicates the Collectivité in a press release. Daniel Gibbs suggested that a working committee be set up to study the possibilities of accompanying the Manteau of Saint-Martin within the limits of the legal and financial constraints of the Collectivité, “since the majority is keen to support a spirit of fairness to all associations that work in the field of assisting people.” The Collectivité will also lay the foundation of a new partnership agreement between the association and the Collectivité, a prelude to more legibility for each party. The primary focus of work taken into consideration will be the safety and compliance of the buildings. In the very short term, and to meet the urgency of securing the site, the President and Vice-President committed themselves that access to the building is protected by installing a gate which is already underway, and the study of the security of the site and other structures.
