The Pépites ready to have fun

THE SHOW OF THE PÉPITES WILL TAKE PLACE ON MAY 6 AT THE LOTERIE FARM TO BRING FORWARD FOUR YOUNG TALENTS OF THE ISLAND.

At a press conference at the Loterie Farm this Wednesday, April 19th, Wonderland Factory, the event company, presented the Pépites. This show, which aims to provide a professional stage to the young talents of the island, will take place on May 6th in the gardens at the Loterie Farm. Alongside Fred York, who takes on the role of coach of four selected artists, Nadia Boukir and Emmanuelle Toulliou, founder of Wonderland Factory, have presented the Pépites: Malaïka Maxwell, Kenyo Bali, and Jabz, who impromptu replaces the young Enora who ultimately will not be able to participate in the event. The famous Tamilia, fourth artist of the Pépites, was not present this morning for medical reasons. "I am supposed to be the coach, but faced with such talents, there is not really any coaching to do” said Fred York before describing each of the Pépites in a few words: “Malaïka is the sophisticated soul of the group, both bluesy and jazzy. Kenyo, is the most eclectic artist and a superstar who takes you from the soul to the soca. Tamilia is the energy of youth. Finally, listening to Jabz, as his title Island Kid says, is to travel in different musical universes of the island”. And to conclude: “everyone will come out of the concert with goose bumps”.

Nadia Boukir and Emmanuelle Toulliou then revealed the events of the evening: the public will be welcomed by Noémienne Brunet, who in addition to take care of the decoration, has a troop of dancers and fire artists. They will be joined by Ben, who works with the LED, as it is not possible to breathe fire at the Loterie Farm for obvious reasons. After a few surprises, the musicians will be grouped by Fred York and will begin to play, and the four Pépites will go on stage to each sing four titles in solo, plus a few duets and songs all together. Morgane Krijan will perform throughout the evening a VJing performance, meaning that she will mix on the music video images which will be projected on a screen. The press conference ended on a musical note. The three present artists no longer holding it up, began to improvise a cappella while Fred York tapped on the table with sticks. “All the public of Saint-Martin must come on the 6th for the largest concert in the world” pronounced amusingly Fred York in French.

Here is a short video to get a glimpse of the jam session.
