Nuit debout in St Barts: a hundred people mobilized

The inhabitant’s initiative took place at the same time as Nuit debout in the mainland, a similar gathering was organized on Sunday night in Saint-Barthélemy. A hundred people have mobilized and took part in the discussions on the existing problems which they consider significant, including the "intensive concreting and nibbling of the green area, the loss of identity the Island natives, road accidents and problems related to housing (rentals/people evicted from their shelters/lease agreements).»."

The organizers are very satisfied with the participation to this event. "It was the first protest movement since the 4-5 June 1975, when Saint-Barthélemy airport blocking took place», they say.
