Four residents of the French side arrested by St. Maarten police
In the early hours of Sunday morning, around 2:10 a.m., Sint Maarten police noticed a car driving suspiciously. Upon seeing the patrol car, the driver accelerated, prompting officers to give chase and conduct a traffic stop, police reported.
The vehicle was intercepted, and four people were found inside: three men between the ages of 21 and 30 and a 17-year-old girl. Officers searched the vehicle and discovered that two of the suspects were armed.
Two Glock 26 pistols and narcotics were seized. The four suspects in the vehicle were arrested and taken into custody at the Philipsburg police station pending further investigation. The confiscated firearms and narcotics were seized as evidence. The four individuals reside on the French side of the island, police confirmed.
