Winair inaugurates its new route between Sint Maarten and Trinidad and Tobago

On Sunday, February 1, Winair officially inaugurated its new air route connecting Princess Juliana Airport in Sint Maarten (SXM) to Port of Spain (POS) in Trinidad and Tobago. This new route is a major milestone for the airline, which is adding its 17th destination to its network and strengthening regional connectivity within the Caribbean.
The launch was held during an official ceremony at Princess Juliana Airport, attended by numerous dignitaries, including Hans van de Velde, CEO of Winair, Michael Lake, CFO of Princess Juliana International Airport, Eli Zakour, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation of Trinidad and Tobago, and Grisha Heyliger-Marten, Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport, and Telecommunications of Sint Maarten.
Following the ceremony, the inaugural flight took off from Sint Maarten at 10:00 a.m. and arrived in Port of Spain at 12:30 p.m. The return flight then left Trinidad at 1:45 p.m. and landed in Sint Maarten at 4:15 p.m. Initially, Winair will operate two flights per week, on Mondays and Sundays.
With the launch of this new route, Winair reaffirms its commitment to strengthening its regional network and promoting economic, tourist, and cultural exchanges between Sint Maarten and Trinidad and Tobago, while improving air connectivity in the Caribbean.
