Epstein case: St. Martin and St. Maarten appear in publicly released files
The US Department of Justice has published 3 million documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case on its website; a special page (“Epstein Library”) has been created. "This site houses materials responsive under the Epstein Files Transparency Act. This site will be updated if additional documents are identified for release. Some of the library's contents include descriptions of sexual assault. As such, please be advised that certain portions of this library may not be appropriate for all readers,“ the website states. Many of these documents are emails sent or received by Jeffrey Epstein, his associates, and their acquaintances. Some of them mention ”Saint Martin."
The names “Saint Martin,” “St. Maarten,” “Orient Bay,” and “Philipsburg” are mentioned several times, mainly by Jeffrey Epstein himself, his girlfriend, his pilot, his yacht hostess, or people who were very close to him, some of whom were also the subject of judicial investigations by the Virgin Islands.
These documents show that Juliana Airport was a transit point for Jeffrey Epstein's guests on his private island in the Virgin Islands. Coming from Europe (via Paris or Amsterdam) or the United States on commercial flights in “class biz“, they traveled to Saint Thomas or “SST” with a stopover in St. Maarten. There, they either took another commercial flight or were picked up by helicopter. According to the flights, they could spend a night in the Dutch or French part (more rarely).
From St. Maarten, cruises lasting a few days to Saint Barth or Anguilla on the yacht were also organized. The head hostess used to stock up on food and drinks from a company in Simpson Bay. She also sometimes used a merchant in Marigot. Stays with nights in hotels in Saint Barth were also booked. The name of an architect from Saint Barth also appears in the files posted online, as well as a craftsman hired to carry out landscaping work.
While some of the published files refer to sexual acts, those mentioning Saint Martin or St Maarten only refer to flight searches, flight coordination, and connections.
