Wataki Clinic officially opens at Concordia

On Thursday, January 29, the inauguration ceremony for the Wataki Clinic, a medical and rehabilitation center run by the Manioukani Group, took place.
Located in Concordia, the Wataki Clinic is a concrete response to the territory's healthcare needs. It aims to improve patient care in the long term while contributing to the development of healthcare in the Northern Islands and neighboring territories. The facility is organized around several areas of expertise, including specialized consultations, day hospitalization, and full hospitalization for patients requiring close medical monitoring. The care offered is both structured and individualized, with the central objective of promoting sustainable recovery, limiting the risk of relapse, and enabling a return to independence.
Beyond its healthcare services, the Wataki Clinic is also committed to promoting research, particularly through the use of artificial intelligence, and to developing a training institute. Preventive healthcare and health education initiatives will also be carried out there.

This project is part of a long-term initiative. Construction of the clinic began in 2021 and was completed in 2025. The day hospital opened its doors at the end of October 2025, with a capacity of 25 to 30 patients per day. The inpatient ward opened on December 10, 2025, with a capacity of around ten patients. The facility currently employs around 20 professionals (coordinating physician, nurses, nursing assistants, social care workers, adapted physical activity and health teachers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and administrative staff) and plans to recruit around 60 people in the short term, with the prospect of up to 100 jobs in the long term.

The event was attended by Prefect Cyrille Le Vély, President of the Collectivité Louis Mussington, Dr. Pierre Sainte-Luce, and Paul Guibert, Territorial Director of the Northern Islands for the Regional Health Agency.
