Two brothers will be sentenced for dealing cocaine and cannabis

They will appear before a summary trial on Wednesday morning in Saint-Martin.

For several months, the Saint-Martin gendarmerie has been investigating drug trafficking - specifically for cocaine and cannabis - on the French side of the island. On Monday, October 17, the homes of several suspects were searched. The operation also led to the discovery of more than a kilo of cocaine, nearly two kilos of cannabis, some cash as well as some weighing equipment.

The investigation has enabled the accusation of two brothers aged 26 and 23. They are believed to be the leaders of the network. They were involved in dealing about one kilo of cocaine per month mainly in the neighborhoods of Grand Case, Marigot and Orient Bay.

Some other people including a minor are also involved. About fifteen drug consumers have also been identified.

The two brothers were placed in custody on Monday. On Wednesday morning, they will appear before the Saint-Martin criminal court for a summary trial.

The police knows them for acts of violence, armed robbery and arms possession.
