A temporary buoyage of the lagoon in Sandy Ground

Installation of the buoyage began last week on the canal in Sandy Ground. The purpose is to better secure the passage boats must take when entering the lagoon, after having passed under the bridge. The project is being carried out by the port after numerous requests from recreational boaters.

"This buoyage is only temporary", insisted the Director, Albéric Ellis. "Indeed, a permanent buoyage will be installed once we have dredged this part of the lagoon", he said. This work might be completed next year, depending on the budget.
