New traffic rules in Marigot

New priorities have been introduced downtown and on the seafront.

New priority in the seafront roundabouts

Since a few days, the traffic rules for the Marigot seafront roundabouts have changed. Motorists who are already engaged in the roundabout now have the priority. Road markings as well as "Yield" signs intended for the drivers who come up to the roundabout indicate this new rule.

Up until now, the rule was the opposite. It was the famous priority to the right rule. Motorists who were engaged in the roundabout had to yield to cars on their right. This rule was not often respected.

New priority at the rue Kennedy and rue Low Town intersection

Another traffic rule was modified several weeks ago at the rue Kennedy and rue Low Town intersection in Marigot. Indeed, motorists coming from Bellevue must yield when they come to this intersection to those who are exiting rue Saint-James (if they are engaged) and to those who are coming from rue Kennedy and are heading toward rue de Hollande. A “Yield” (Cédez le passage) sign has also been installed.
