Beach Volley: Saint-Martin women’s team courting the Olympic Games

AFTER ANTIGUA AND JAMAICA, THE PLAYERS OF THE SAINT-MARTIN WOMEN’S TEAM WILL PLAY THE THIRD ROUND OF THE CONTINENTAL CUP IN EL SALVADOR.

The women’s beach volley team of Saint-Martin qualified for the third round for the Olympic Games in Rio during the second tournament which took place on January 26 - 30, 2016 in Jamaica. This is the first time that the club based in Le Galion has gone so far in the competition.
Melody Benhamou (twice French champion), Stéphanie Pioche, Valérie Damaseau and Audrey Gil played against ten other teams in two-against-two games for three days on the warm sands of the Ocho Rios beach. By getting the fourth place after their defeat in the semi-finals, they won their ticket for the next round. And will head for El Salvador in May.
If the Saint-Martin team doesn’t make its way to the Olympics, with a little luck, one of them might be called to join the French team.
