Saint-Martin, future electro destination?

Saint-Martin is about to host the first festival in the world with programming without interruption for five days.

Electronic music lovers can rejoice. Saint-Martin is about to host the first festival in the world with programming without interruption for five days.
The SXMusic will take place from March 9 to 13 and it is expected to draw nearly 3,000 people. Enough to boost tourism in both sides of the island, thus diversifying the customer base. Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex, Guy Gerber, Francesca Lombardo, Apollonia, Dubfire, Blondish... More than thirty of the best international DJs will perform at the most beautiful locations of the island. French side, Deep House and Techno will resonate at Kontiki, Palm Beach, Lotterie Farm and at the Mercure hotel. Dutch side, one will need to go to Tantra, Shore, Rock Zoo, Skybeach and Kokomo.
Visual effects won’t be left behind. Bamboo structures, decoration made from recycled and organic industrial materials, video projections and lighting effects... Various artists have been tasked with giving the audience an eyeful.
Any refractory party should be reassured. "Even someone who has never heard electronic music in their life and is 60 years old will like it," assured the festival organizer Julian Arbia (a.k.a Julian Prince) to the Journal de Montréal. The Quebec DJ and businessman knows Saint-Martin. He has vacationed there since 2004, and he bets on the ideal setting it provides. Who knows? The island could become an electro destination like famous Ibiza.
