The school is celebrating its artists

FROM JUNE 13 - 21, THE ART FESTIVAL SHOWCASES THE ARTISTIC PRODUCTIONS OF THE ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.

"We’re proud of the trust you place in us by having chosen this place". This is how Line Galves, the director of the Sandy Ground Cultural Center, introduced the inauguration of the art festival on Monday June 13. Throughout the day, the Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy elementary and middle school students gave performances: choirs, concerts, dances, poetry reading, exhibition of art works...

For its first edition, this event, which was organized by the education services, will take place throughout the week and end on June 21, the day of the Music Festival. "The objective is to show the work done in the different schools by highlighting the students’ artistic productions" explained Michel Sanz, the representative of the superintendant of schools, while thanking the teachers and the school principals "who have allowed the classes to create". According to him, artistic creation allows some students to improve their academic results by providing them with a means of expression. And academic success is the priority objective of the education services.

The second edition will take place in 2017 and is already likely to have a particular momentum.
