Shooting incident at Maho

On Saturday, April 22 around 7.45 pm the Central Dispatch Center received information about a shooting that took place in the area of Maho Reef, at the entrance to Point Pirouette. Based on information received it seems that several persons were involved in a shoot-out. Apparently groups had an argument and they shot at each other on Amazone Drive in front of many visitors and residents of the island.

This case is under investigation by the detective department of the Police Force of Sint Maarten. Two vehicles, both Huyndai brand, were confiscated for further investigation,.

The exact reason of the shooting is still unknown, but luckily no one was injured. At this moment, no further details can be given concerning the shooting.
