Scooter/motorcycle: contest of the best helmet

The initiative is intended to encourage young people to wear a helmet.

The centre symphorien d’insertion (CSI) in partnership with the police station has started this Monday morning a contest to encourage young people to wear a helmet when driving a motorcycle.

The principle is this: decorate/graffiti on his helmet, take pictures with it and send it to the CSI. The best helmet will be rewarded by a jury.

However, the Commander Sébastien Manzoni, specifies three conditions: the participant must wear the helmet sitting on the motorcycle, they should not take the picture themselves (this one to be taken by someone else) and cannot drive in wheeling.

The winner will be offered an two-wheeled internship at the Hope Estate driving school. This trainee is required to subscribe an insurance. Young people have until April 3, 2017 to send their picture by email to contact@csi-insertion.com

This initiative is one of the actions carried out by the Centre symphorien d’insertion to sensitize young people to the dangers of the road. Marie-Paule Rousseau, Director of the Center, also held this morning at French Quarter a meeting between young people from the association and gendarmes; the gendarmes were able to exchange and share their experiences with young people.

The association also offered a helmet to Roméric. “He lives in Sandy Ground and to go to work, he used to borrow the helmet of his girlfriend,” says Marie-Paule Rousseau, which offers young people three helmets per month on average.
